Yalie-packed panel of legal scholars will debate immigration policy

The Yale Latino Alumni Association, Yale Alumni Association, Yale Club of Los Angeles, UCLA Law School & Yale Law School Association of Southern California invite you to a panel discussion with the following esteemed speakers:

  • Rachel F. Moran, Dean & Michael J. Connell Professor Of Law, Ucla Law School (’81 Yale Law)
  • Thomas A. Saenz, President, General Counsel, Mexican American Legal Defense And Educational Fund (’87 Yale, ’91 Yale Law)
  • Jennifer Chacon, Professor, Uc Irvine Law School (‘98 Yale Law)
  • Ricardo Lara, Assemblymember, 50Th District (And Former Chief Of Staff For The Hon. Marco Firebaugh)
  • New addition: Katharine Gin, Co-Founder & Executive Director of Educators for Fair Consideration (Yale '94)

The panel will discuss the recent California Supreme Court decision, Martinez v. Regents, upholding the California law allowing in-state tuition rates to certain undocumented students, its ramifications, and recent developments in education legislation, and policy concerning undocumented students.

A reception will follow the panel discussion. Please RSVP with payment no later than 6 p.m. on February 25.
