Jacaranda, music at the edge, is honoring David Lang (MMA '83, DMA '89. current professor, Yale School of Music) with a big dinner party, mini-concert and clips of (Untitled), the film he scored in 2009 starring Adam Goldberg. Jonathan Parker, its writer/director, will be on hand. Also in 2009, David Lang won the Pulitzer Prize and Grammy for "The Little Match Girl Passion."

Hear excerpts sung by Grant Gershon and three amazing singer/percussionists. Bang on a Can pianist Danny Holt is featured with LA's hottest string quartets - Lyris & Calder. Patrick Scott, Jacaranda's artistic director, tells me last year's party honoring Thomas Adès drew the who's who of architects, prominent film and concert music composers, many very cool people, and that the food rocked.

Help Jacaranda and come talk to Lang at the cocktail reception with music by Da Kah Hip! Hop Orchestra members.

The event is Monday, September 19 at 6:30 PM at the Skirball Center Ahmanson Ballroom and tickets are $250. Please click here to purchase.  For more information, please contact see the Jacaranda website at http://www.jacarandamusic.org/index.html.
