Biophilia Mash-up: Nature vs. Buildings
Stuck in a cubicle? Working out of a cramped home office? Tired of soulless shopping mall corridors?

An evening with Yale professor emeritus Stephen Kellert to screen his new movie and book on Biophili

Tuesday, January 29th, 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Then get ready for a world in which architecture improves the quality of our lives by incorporating elements from nature -- like plants, green spaces, open air and daylight: Hospitals where patients heal faster; schools where children’s test scores are higher; offices where workers are more productive … And collaborative working spaces like Cross Campus, where we’re continuously incorporating natural elements into our physical space.

It all comes to life in the gripping new documentary Biophilic Design: The Architecture of Life. Join us at Cross Campus for a screening of the film and a discussion with its executive producer, Yale School of Forestry professor emeritus Stephen Kellert. Dr. Kellert, one of the pioneers in the field of biophilia, will also discuss his new book, Birthright: People and Nature in the Modern World, which sets forth the first full account of nature's powerful influence on the quality of our lives.

This event is a co-production with Yale Blue Green, a community comprised of Yale alumni, students, faculty, staff and affiliates engaged in "greening” Yale and beyond.
