"L.A. Decides: What happened, and where does the city go from here?"

Join the Princeton Club of Southern California for drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and a terrific talk by Raphael Sonenshein '71, a noted professor, author, and expert on the governance of Los Angeles.  Learn what really happened in the recent elections, and the impact it will have on the future of our city.
Your admission ticket includes beverages and hors d'oeuvres at the fabulous BreadBar Bistro in Century City.Our host will be BreadBar's owner, Ali Chalabi *86.  A cash bar will be available, and Ali has arranged a special prix fixe menu for everyone who wants to stay afterward for dinner.
What:  Professor Raphael Sonenshein '71, with an update and analysis of Los Angeles politics, focusing on the recent elections.

Professor Sonenshein is the executive director of the Edmund G. "Pat" Brown Institute of Public Affairs at  the California State University, Los Angeles.  He has taught at CSU Fullerton since 1982, and has served as chair of the Division of Politics, Administration, and Justice.  He received his BA in public policy from the Woodrow Wilson School, and his MA and PhD in political science from Yale University.
His book, Politics in Black and White:  Race and Power in Los Angeles, received the 1994 Ralph J. Bunche Award from the American Political Science Association as the best political science book of the year on the subject of racial and ethnic pluralism.  His other books include The City at Stake:  Secession, Reform, and the Battle for Los Angeles, and Los Angeles:  Structure of a City Government.
Sonenshein is sought after as a political expert by local and national media, serving as a political consultant to assess election-day exit polls, and has appeared on CNN and NPR.  His op-ed columns have been published in the LA Times, and he has been quoted in the New York Times and the Washington Post.
