Program Associate

The Prostate Cancer Foundation seeks a Program Associate to handle a diverse portfolio of projects in the Office of the President.  Staffer must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced office environment; must have superior written and oral communications skills; must have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.  Daily tasks may include, but are not limited to: administrative duties, answering phones, writing and editing correspondence, conducting research, and attending meetings as needed. Drafting memorandum and producing research reports for the Foundation’s President, its Board Committees, and the Board of Directors in diverse areas of social entrepreneurship are part of the quarterly work-flow. The ideal candidate would be able to multi-task and think on his or her feet, and anticipate needs of the Office before they arise.   He or she will be self-motivated, discreet, and detail-oriented. 

The successful candidate will have poise, patience and a good sense of humor.  He or she must possess exceptional judgment, and must exhibit the skills to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others, the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships, and the capability to interact within all levels of the organization and with external constituents. He or she will be a strategic thinker who can navigate competing demands to maximize the Foundation’s time and resources.  Works closely with Chief of Staff and Executive Assistant to the President in ensuring smooth operations of the Office of the President.

Major Responsibilities:

The Program Associate is responsible for helping the Office of the President pursue its priorities and navigate the issues and demands of the day as effectively as possible.  This includes:
• Anticipating and managing the preparation of information and/or briefing materials for the President, Chief of Staff, and Executive Assistant;
• Coordinating projects at the request of the Chief of Staff and gathering information from across the organizations' teams and offices to support the President, his Executive Assistant, and the Chief of Staff;
• Managing communications with and fielding requests from some external and internal constituents;
• Creating a professional, responsive, collegial relationship with all those who engage with the Office of the President;
• Providing high-level support to PCF’s leadership team and Board members. 


Minimum Qualifications: 
• Bachelor’s degree
• A record of strong academic achievement; outstanding research, writing, and analytical skills; and interest in public service are essential
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:
• Visual design experience
