Yale Family Presents: Under the Stars at the UCLA Planetarium

Join as we return to the UCLA Planetarium for one of our most requested Yale Family events.

A UCLA astrophysicist will treat us to a fascinating show on extra solar planets.

We will learn about planets astronomers are discovering outside of our solar system, the methods they use to hunt down these elusive objects, and discuss the tantalizing possibility of finding another Earth.

Then we'll go outside, look through the UCLA telescope and learn about what we see!

Light snacks will be served. Please bring a jacket if it’s a cold night, as the telescope is on the roof.

Directions and Parking:

The UCLA Planetarium (Room MS 8224) is a hidden gem, located on the eighth floor of UCLA Math Sciences building.  The telescopes are on the ninth floor.

To avoid getting lost on the way there, we will meet our presenter downstairs five minutes before showtime, and he will guide us to the Planetarium.
Here is a map of the area with metered parking marked in PINK and our meeting place marked in GREEN.

Please take evening traffic into consideration and plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow time to park and walk to the meeting place.

If you arrive after 6:30, you may take the elevator to the 8th floor and follow the signs to the Planetarium.
