Yale, MIT & Princeton Present: Los Angeles High Table with Beth Doane

Join us for "Sustainability’s in Fashion!" with Beth Doane, a socially-conscious entrepreneur who advocates for ethical standards of production and distribution in the fashion industry.

Yale, MIT, and Princeton alums are invited to join us for the second event in a new every-other-month series aimed at showcasing exciting work by dynamic speakers in an intimate setting.  We especially welcome established alums in fields relevant to the talk and younger alums in all fields.  This second Los Angeles High Table event features a talk by Beth Doane on socially-conscious business practices.

Event format: 30 minutes mingling, 60 High Table Program featuring Beth Doane, 60 minutes networking and discussion post-talk with refreshments
About the speaker: Beth Doane currently serves as an innovative entrepreneur, speaker, and advocate of ethical standards in business. She believes in redistribution of profits by giving back to communities to sustain and nurture their growth. In this talk, Beth will tell us of her personal journey as an advocate for ethical practices after she became aware of rampant human rights violations, environmental pollution and child labor prevalent in the fashion industry.

Today, her personal apparel line, Raintees, has planted thousands of trees around the world and helped provide an education for youth in over 28 countries. Her remarkable journey has captivated audiences at TEDx, the United Nations, Google, and the National Mall in Washington, DC. With features in National Geographic, Glamour, In Style and other top tier publications, Beth was also featured in celebrity photographer John Russo’s book 100 Making a Difference alongside Michelle Obama and Prince Edward. Beth also owns the consulting firm Andira Creative.
You can read about Beth’s work on her website: http://bethdoane.com/.
