ALL MEMBERS OF THE YALE COMMUNITY (AND FAMILY MEMBERS) ARE INVITED TO ATTEND!

In celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, join YBAA-LA for a tour of the Civil Rights Museum at the Watts Labor Community Action Committee (WLCAC). The tour will commence at 11AM and lasts 2 hours. We will have another hour at the facility for a discussion on race relations.

As a service gesture for this event, please bring new or gently used large, empty backpacks, duffle bags or small suitcases to be given to LA County DCFS for use when children and youth are removed from their homes due to suspected abuse or neglect. Children will be able to use these donated items to transport their clothing and personal belongings during removal.  Currently, young people are forced to place their belongings in trash bags during this stressful situation.  Having access to backpacks, duffle bags and suitcases takes some of the stress out of the process for children and youth.
