"Departures From The Norm: Neuroplasticity With Surrealist Perspectives" - Lecture by UCLA researcher and Ph.D. candidate Courtney Yaeger

Doors Open at 7pm for Dim Sum and Drinks. Free parking at the lot next to the building.

Enjoy refreshments and an enriching lecture in the company of the vibrant community that gathers at Gil's Sanctuary, surrounded by the vivid abstract imagery of artist Gil Cuatrecasas, Harvard '57, Yale School of Art '59. Many of his works are reminiscent of the dendritic patterns found in the natural world, whether in microscopic dendrites in the human brain or the branches of trees in the forest.

"Where the artist may work with paintbrushes, stone chisels, or a camera to shape a viewer’s perspective through media, the scientist uses microscopes, telescopes, and MRI machines to see farther and gain access to perspectives that are otherwise inaccessible. It is in this intersection of perspectives - mentally visualized creative abstractions that are distilled into frameworks of understanding called theory that the artist and the scientist meet."
—Hemanth Ramprakash (Ph.D., MBA and a former lecturer at Gil's Sanctuary)
